According the Vegetarian's Paradise web site, a rutabaga is "a root vegetable that looks very much like a turnip with yellow-orange flesh and ridges at its neck." It goes on at some length to point out the rutabaga's great nutrition, versatility as a food, easy preparation, and delicate flavor.

However, according to a passerby at CMA, a rutabaga is a thing that looks like a turnip but "tastes like ass."
